No Kings Protest Returns in Auburn October 18
Nearly 90 Washington communities plan events
On Saturday, October 18, Auburn area residents will come together with millions of Americans across the country in a nationwide day of nonviolent protest at the second No Kings Day of Action.
The Auburn event will be held at Auburn Way N and 15th NE—Auburn’s busiest intersection—from 12-1:30 p.m. It is sponsored by the local Auburn Indivisible chapter. To register, sign up in Mobilize at: https://tinyrul.com/ycyfxpe3.
There are thousands of events planned nationwide including nearly 90 in Washington state, with many in the Puget Sound region.
“As President Trump continues to pretend he’s a dictator, we are standing up again to push back against his hateful, authoritarian actions,” said V. Bates, spokesperson for the chapter. “Our peaceful day of action is going to bring together local residents from all walks of life who share a simple message: We don’t do kings in America.”
On June 14, more than five million people across all 50 states joined No Kings in the largest single-day protest yet against President Trump’s administration—about 1,000 attended the Auburn protest. The October 18 day of action is the next step in this growing movement, channeling that energy into yet another coordinated, peaceful mobilization, Bates said.
Besides Indivisible, other groups organizing the No Kings peaceful protests across the country include: ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, SEIU, among others.

No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation and are working closely with local partners to ensure peaceful and powerful actions nationwide.
